I have seen women overflow with joy when they create their first discloth with their own hands. Teaching women how to do things the “old fashioned way” allows us time to fellowship, share the gospel, develop deeper friendships and so much more.

God laid this ministry on my heart about ten years ago. It began with a sputter back in the Buffalo, NY area with “Stitches” at our church at the time. We taught women of the church and community how to knit. The things we completed were then given to people in the hospital or long term care facilities. They were sold and the monies raised were used for missions and outreach.

God called my husband and I to Charlotte, NC about two years ago and I have begun working on the ministry here in Charlotte. Baby steps.

My dream is to eventually see the ministry in its own habitat where women would come in and learn the skills my Mom passed onto me. I do not want to see the younger generation of women lose these skills. Knitting, crocheting, sewing, cooking, and so on. Skills that older women should teach younger women in atmosphere that is non-threatening and builds community and a love for Jesus Christ.

Whether God has this in mind for this ministry or not has yet to be seen. What I do know is that He has laid it on my heart and I best do my best to use the gifts and talents He has bestowed on me to lead and teach other women and girls.

God has blessed me so much in my lifetime, I just have to share with others.
